Workshops: Make-and-Take
DarkCon’s popular ‘Make-and-Take’ classes fill up fast!
These classes let you, the attendee, walk into each class empty handed and walk out with an amazing costuming piece, built by your own hands, that you will treasure for years.
Sign-up online is limited to 10, the rest is first come first served at DarkCon, so get to the con early!
NOTE: Online registration for these workshops has now ended, but there are still places available in each class, available on a first-come, first served basis at the convention. Thank you!

Friday Workshops
Steampunk Gun Workshop (also Saturday)
Friday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Teacher: Pattie Steele (Vinchenza)
Materials Fee: $10
Class limited to 15 (10 max. in advance Online)
Make an awesome looking Steampunk gun from a water pistol – and it still works too!
We provide the materials as well as basic design ideas and the know-how to put it all together.
(Then take the Holster class Friday at 3 pm so you have a way to carry it on your costume!)
Steampunk Goggle Workshop (This popular class will be held again Sunday)
Friday 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Teachers: Brian Lapham & Nola Yergen (Chameleon)

Class limited to 20 (10 max. in advance Online)
Join us for this hands-on workshop for modifying an inexpensive pair of welding goggles into super-cool Steampunk goggles.
Make them and then wear them to the Steampunk Party on Friday night!
Holster Workshop

A ‘Fascinator’ is a tiny hat (usually a top hat) that perches on top of your fabulous up-do.
Create your hat and decorate it with tiny goggles, gears or ribbons.
Steampunk Garter Belt Workshop

Make a fabulous Steampunk Garter Belt (or should we say Garter UTILITY Belt?!).
It is a leather garter belt that goes great over leggings or works well over a skirt.
Add pockets or pouches to up the coolness factor.
